D&R ACRES HOBBY & RESCUE FARM
ANIMAL RESCUE/DISPLACEMENT ASSISTANCE

Due to COVID-19 and the recent flood, many animals—particularly horses—have been displaced.

D&R Acres Hobby and Rescue Farm provides housing, care, rehab and a permanent sanctuary for horses that have been removed due to natural disasters, court orders and volunteer surrender.

Because of recent events, D&R Acres Hobby and Rescue Farm has received a large influx of animals and need assistance. Volunteers are needed to help support and ensure animals are safe and secure.

Most work will be outside. Gloves are provided. Bathrooms and kitchen facilities are available.

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS:

  • Farm Wrangler: Install fencing, clean stalls, brush animals, work with animals (must know how to run a tractor and post hole digger)
  • Clerical Work: Answer the phone, file, make appointments, typing

BEFORE ARRIVAL:

  • Dress for the weather (layers, close-toed shoes or boots, jeans and T-Shirts are preferred).
  • Please bring: a cloth mask, food for the day and a water bottle to fill.

UPON ARRIVAL:
